Whenever Dadi goes overseas, my Shaun TiTi will negotiate to sleep with Mami. Mami would not agree unless if he is unwell.
I have been coughing over the past two days. I was unable to sleep. So, Mami suggested for me to sleep in her room. At that time, Shaun TiTi has already slept. She was worried that he would cry when he realises that he is all alone in our room. Mami then decided to carry him into her room to sleep with me on her bed. With TiTi and I sleeping on her bed, Mami ended sleeping on the mattress on the floor.
We love sleeping in Mami's room. It brings much comfort to us. We slept well last night.

Missing Dadi all the time
Dadi was recently away for a week to Geneva and this week, he is away again to Geneva. Although Dadi has been travelling often over the past few years, I would still cry thinking of him most of the time. I would normally cry the first night he is away, missing him so dearly.
My Shaun TiTi is the opposite. Just recently when Dadi was leaving for Geneva, he happily said "Yey, Dadi is going to Geneva". There was a reason behind his cheer. He knows that Dadi would be buying him toys which he had already preselected.
We both love Legos and Legos are cheap in Geneva. He bought several sets of levels for us and I believe he will be buying one more Star Wars set for Shaun when he comes back this round.
Thank you Dadi for your love and generosity. We love you too.

Projects after projects
I have been busy with lots of projects in school. When I am busy, Mami gets busy too.
School has been interesting. Science subject is far the most interesting subject for me.
Over the past month, the emphasis on our science topic was "Minibeast". We had several projects, some individual and some group projects. One of which was to catch a minibeast and prepare a habitat for it. I went hunting for a snail with Dadi one fine morning. However, we did not manage to find a snail. We went for the easiest minibeast to catch..... The Ant.

Sorry as Mami had forgotten to take a picture of my ant habitat. We caught about 20 big black ants. We had to write a science report on our preparation in looking for the minibeast and how we ensured that the minibeast we caught would be safe in our habitat.
We had another group project where each group was given a different habitat and we had to make 2-D or 3-D minibeast that correspondent with the habitat. We had to buy all sorts of materials for it. We had to beautify the habitat with materials too. My group was given a picture of soil, logs and burrow.
School is certainly fun for me. I can't wait for more projects to come.

Favourite Birthday Presents
I am blessed with nice presents for my 8th birthday this year. I received a few presents from my classmates. One of my favourite present from my classmate was Boggle. I loved playing Boggle with my family.
Both my grandmothers bought me legos this year. They are my two favourite legos.
Ah Mah and Mami bought me this Star Wars Lego.
And Mah Mah and Ku Ku bought me this Ninjago Lego.
I am really very fortunate. I have been playing with these legos daily and I love them. Shaun TiTi love them too. We have been playing the legos together everyday.
I am very grateful for my birthday presents this year. Thank you God for my friends and family members who love me so much. I thank God for them all.

My 8th Birthday Celebrations
I had two birthday celebrations this year. One bigger than the other.
Mami arranged for a joint birthday celebration with another friend of mine. He is a good friend.... a classmate and my badminton partner. We celebrated our birthday together in school as our birthdays were 3 days apart.
I really enjoyed celebrating my birthday this year. Will share with you my two favourite birthday presents in my next post.

Naive within a group of girls
I work very well within girls. In fact, most of my good friends are girls. I like to hang out with them too. I dislike rough and tough boys.
Recently, there was a small group work assigned by my science teacher. Coincidently, all my group members were girls. We were supposed to bring pictures of seeds dispersed by water, wind, animals etc. A group member of mine was assigned as a group leader.
My group leader requested me to bring all the pictures. She said that because I was the only boy within the group, it makes me special. Because I was special, I should bring all the pictures. The other two group members agreed and praised me that I was very special. I was delighted to hear that I was special, so, I agreed.
Mami helped me to print the pictures and I brought them to school the next day. My group members were very happy with the pictures. I was happy that I contributed well.
Mami could only laugh at how naive I was within the group of girls. For the record, they are all very nice girls. They just have a way to win my heart.

Great minds don't think alike
Mami was surprised with a delivery of a beautiful basket of flowers. It attracted Shaun Shaun and I when we arrived home from school. My immediate response was to find out who had ordered this basket of flowers. My Ah Mah immediately replied that it was Mami's boyfriend.
I asked "What? How can Mami have a boyfriend when she is already married?"
Shaun immediately said "Oh....I know who Mami's boyfriend is. The flowers is from Dadi. Dadi married to Mami, and then become her boyfriend."
And I thought I was the smarter one in the family. How did Shaun Shaun know that the basket of flowers was from Dadi?

Bedtime Prayer and Blessing
Ever since Mami had stopped working and became a full time mummy two years ago, our family has never missed a bedtime prayer. It would either be Mami or Dadi leading in prayer before giving us a blessing. Sometimes, we take turns to pray.
Mami has been sick with flu and cough over the past three weeks. Dadi has been trying to come back early over the past two weeks to pray with us. It has been difficult for Mami to say our bedtime prayer out loud. She would cough repeatly if she does.
Dadi is away for work this week. Shaun Shaun and I have been good boys. Instead of Mami praying for us, we would lead in prayer. Shaun Shaun would always start in prayer and I would end the prayer. Mami would still give us our daily blessings. Our standard blessing as follows:
"You are my beloved son, in you I am well pleased and on you my favour rest"
Our blessing comes with a big hug and a kiss too.

Compassionate
Mami says that I am a very compassionate child. I would try to think of others first before mine.
I am currently having a flu and my nose is blocked most of the time. Last night, Mami offered me an additional pillow to sleep on. She had to go to her room to get it. I knew at once that it was hers. I immediately asked her in return "Are you sure you don't need the pillow?"

Sponsorship
Dadi and Mami allowed me to choose a child to sponsor today. There was a Pastor who came to our church. He shared about his ministry in Borneo. He and his wife sold off all they had in Australia many many years ago to love, care, feed and shelter dying children.
As I was seeing many people going to a particular table in church, looking at some photographs, Mami explained that these children requires sponsorship and support. After understanding what it was, I immediately told Mami that I wanted to sponsor a child. I went to Dadi and asked for his permission. Then I selected a child and agreed that I would sponsor that child. How did I choose this child? It was because he was the same age as I was.
I know that I do not have the money to sponsor yet, but I am sure Mami will graciously pay on my behalf. I will play my part to pray for this child in return. I get to keep this photo and details so that I can pray for him. Perhaps one day, we will meet.

I am blessed
I am very blessed. Blessed with good family and friends.
There is a church friend whom I want to mention and remember here in my blog. Her name is Aunty Mei Leng.
I came to know her more when we were involved in the Christmas project last year. I was blessed to be chosen to be in the same group with her. We visited the homes of the rumah panjang families together. We brought gifts and lunch for them. We ate together and I was asked to pray for them before we left. The next day, I followed Aunty Mei Leng to a place called Dong Lai. There were many children there. It was quite a journey there. It was also a wet and cold day. We had lots of fun singing and playing with the children. We made a factory line to serve dinner to them.
Since then, I became more attached to Aunty Mei Leng because she took care of me throughout the trips. She reminded me to drink water and go for my toilet breaks in-between. She drove me back to my home after the trip.
Some time ago, Aunty Mei Leng came to visit me. She requested from my Mami to bring me out for a date. She brought me to Cravings at Tesco Extra and we had a nice time of fellowship over a banana split ice cream. Aunty Mei Leng had mushroom soup with garlic bread. In return, I played a few songs on the Electone and Piano for her to enjoy. Oh...... I was so happy that Mami gave me money to pay for the treat. We felt so honoured that Aunty Mei Leng came to our house to visit us, despite her busy schedules.
On the following day, Aunty Mei Leng gave me a card when we met in church. It was a great surprise. Here is the card for you to read.

On the Eve of Easter
What did you do on the eve of Easter?
Our family had a great time watching "The Rise of the Guardian". I loved the show....... and I loved the Easter Bunny. Mami reminded me that there was no such person as the Easter Bunny. However, I learnt not be believe in fear so that I would not be clouded with dark ugly black clouds or horses.
Blessed Easter.

Busy year for me
I have been very busy since school started. There have been a few new activities added to my schedule. Despite my hectic schedule, I am still very much happy with it.
My school has changed from the Local KSSR syllabus to Cambridge syllabus. I am happy over the new syllabus because there are alot more interesting projects, group work and activities. We started the beginning of the year learning how to make a comic strip. Now, we are learning how to do a drama. Next week will be our drama presentation and our group will be presenting "The Cinderella Story". I have been appointed as the group leader and will be the narrator for this play.
I am progressing well in music. I will be sitting for the Yamaha Grade 9 Piano examination this August. I am at Grade 8 for my Electone but Mami has decided not to register me for any Electone examination until Grade 7.
Three new activities added to my schedule this year. I am taking drama and speech classes through my school's curriculum, swimming and Kumon. I am coping well with my schedule so far.

A Brand New Year
Blessed New Year to all who are reading my blog. I wish to apologize for the long absence in updating the blog.
There is so much to update. Perhaps just to highlight a few.
The month of December had been a busy month for us.
We went for a 3-days trip to Penang. It was there that I began to learn how to be comfortable with water in a pool. We went for a banana boat ride which I was fearful off. Slided on super high and long slides. I believe Shaun enjoyed them more than I did.
We brought my cousins, Nick, Ashley and Tobin for a roller blading experience. It was fun for me, but they suffered aches and pains being first timers. I also realised that Shaun is really good at roller blading.
I was privileged to be able to avail myself for the church Christmas project to visit the people from Rumah Panjang and Donglai. I prayed for them and we sat down for meals together. I appreciate Aunty Mei Leng, a church member who took care of me. Mami and Dadi could not join us. I am looking forward to go to Donglai again. It is a ministry I look forward to. I have packed some toys and old clothes to bless them the next time I visit them.
My Aunty Jennifer and her family migrated to Australia. We spent a fruitful time at the airport with them. Mah Mah and Yeh Yeh came from Ipoh to join us. I had a little tears in my eyes when they turned their backs and entered the departure hall.
We spent the Christmas in Ipoh with my grandparents. Coincidently my school friend came to Ipoh. We met up in a game of Laser Tech. I really enjoyed the various services in church. It was the first time I attended church 4 days in a row. I was happy that I could play 6 Christmas Carols on the piano for the Chinese service while my Yeh Yeh song led. There was a candlelight service on Christmas eve. My school friend was at the service too.
We ended the year with a great and fun time together with our cell group members at Ah Ku's house. We played a game of Risks, witnessed the fireworks and watched a movie called The 3 Idiots. It was a very funny movie. We only went back at 2 a.m. on New Year's day.
I thank God for His grace, mercy and favour upon me and my family. God has been really good to me.
It is now Year 2013. School has started. I have already witnessed God's goodness by placing me into my preferred class. I had just started my first swimming lesson yesterday. I was surprised over my own courage to learn swimming and I did enjoy the lesson.
I pray that this new year will be another great year. I hope to grow to know Him, love Him and serve Him.

Year 2 Mathematics
Mami had started introducing Year 2 syllabus with me at home. I have covered 3 chapters of Science and 2 chapters of Mathematics. I am a little worried. I realised that Year 2 Mathematics has 13 chapters, introducing many new topics which I am totally unfamiliar with. For a start, I am trying to memorise my multiplication. Otherwise, I can't go to the next chapter of division.
I hope I'll be able to learn as much as possible before school reopen.

Children House Of Prayer (CHOP)
Mami and I attended a 2 days Children Prayer Conference organised by NECF and CHOP. It was held at Full Gospel Assembly, KL. The praise and worship was awesome. Prayer time was powerful, but I was too shy to really pray. My little brother came for the last session at night because the entry was free.
Here are some photos to share.

What did I learn?
We learnt how to pray for our families, unsaved friends, church leaders, and most of all, our beloved country, MALAYSIA! We were encouraged to also adopt another country and pray for the country.
I was also addicted to a particular malay song "Yesuslah Tuhan yang layak ditinggikan". The next morning, I kept playing this song by ear over the piano. Love this song.
