Christmas Tracting Adventure

My church had sent several groups to go tracting at several shopping malls and LRT station prior to Christmas. Our cell group covered 1Shamelin mall.

I wrote a poem as a testimony for my church and I recited this poem during our Thanksgiving Service last Sunday.

Christmas, Christmas, Christmas is near,
I have something exciting here,
I had an important mission,
To share God's love and vision.

I started off going,
Without really knowing,
How to show them,
God's big love for them.

Prayer and boldness,
I needed to get,
I charged forward,
Without looking backward.

I went to 1Shamelin,
I started trembling,
Who will I meet there?
What will I do there?

I looked around,
I tried to go round,
I bravely approached,
A man with a broach (the security guard).

I handed out a tract,
He smiled and took it back,
Was it difficult to do,
No! It wasn't difficult to continue.

I finished my tracting,
With great joy and clapping,
I hope I was able,
To touch the hearts of all people.

God bless them all!

Special guest in Decatonics

Shaun Shaun and I were privileged to join our church's mini choir group named Decatonics. We played the cajons, performing in SS2 mall and Christmas church service. Decatonics sang beautiful Christmas carols and we had a great time during practices and performances. I praise God for this opportunity.

Speech Day 2013

Finally, Speech Day for the year has passed. It was lots of fun for me as I thoroughly enjoyed my group performance of a song called "More, More, More, I Want More More More". Although the costume looked silly, but the song was nice and catchy.

This year, the school had trimmed down significantly on the awards for the students. With the Cambridge syllabus, there are only three core subjects i.e. English, Maths and Science. One award was given for each subject to each class. I obtained an award for Maths. I had also received an award for Bahasa Malaysia during the school assembly before Speech Day. BM is a non-core subject, hence it was given out separately.

I thank God for His grace and mercy upon my life in school this year. God has been good to me.

Lots of fun and eating

School has been fun for me. There are still lessons taught, particularly for English and Science. However, we have been busy with our Speech Day dance and it has been fun. I love dancing.

We have been having lots of parties recently. Two of my friends had their birthday parties last week, and another had her birthday party in school yesterday. We had yummy ice cream cakes. Today was Children's Day and the school provided us with KFC chickens and ice cream. Tomorrow will be our class party and I made chocolate truffles for my class. It was really simple to make. You can check out this website http://www.bestrecipes.com.au/recipe/easy-chocolate-and-condensed-milk-truffles-L4891.html for the recipe. Instead of Marie biscuits, we used Ritz biscuits.

I am looking forward for the days to come. More fun in school. Field trip is just round the corner and finally.....our Speech Day.

Hooray! School holidays are coming.

Yamaha Claris Mini Concert 2013

We had a mini concert at Yamaha Claris to celebrate the end of our JXC programme. It was combined with another class of a higher grade. There were few electone students who were invited to perform as well.

I had a great time there. I played The Entertainer on the electone and an ensemble entitled Comical Train. My teacher was also so generous to give us angpow for the good results our group had received.

My TiTi also had a mini concert two days before mine, but unfortunately there were no group photos taken. So, here he is in this group picture, as many in this group also had siblings performing in his concert.

Percussion Lessons

I was so glad when I heard that our church organized a percussion lesson for us to learn how to play the cajon. We have two cajons at home. One for me and another for Shaun Shaun. I have been actively playing on it on my own.

Last Sunday was the first lesson and I thoroughly enjoyed the lesson. I hope to be able to play the cajon one day during church worship session. It would be so fun and cool.

Our Percussion Teacher was the handsome young man
sitting on the bright red cajon. He was the one who
made my cajon.

Yamaha Grade 9 piano examination

I praise God for a Distinction in my Yamaha Grade 9 examination. I worked hard and I had a dedicated teacher who ensured that we did well. Everyone in my Yamaha group class did well, scoring merits and distinctions. We were really proud of our teacher, Ms. Aw. I thank God for her dedication and commitment. I also thank God for Mami who helped me in my practices at home. Above all, I thank God for GOD. He is certainly good to me. I would not have done well without Him.

3 Billy Goats Gruff Drama

My team had to perform a drama for our English assessment last Friday in school. This is a second drama this year for me. We had to perform based on the story the Three Billy Goat Gruff.

Dadi and Mami made these masks for our group for this drama. My teacher loved the mask and requested for them. I happily asked permission from Mami and gave them to her. I was glad my team did very well.

New Toy in the Block

Have to heard of Cajon? It looks like a stool box which you can sit on. You can not only sit on it, you can drum on it as well.

Dadi and Mami bought Shaun and I cajons to play at home. We bought it from a church friend's boyfriend who makes cajons. You can visit his website here http://timoz-percussion.com/my/. You can customize your own cajons too. If you love drumming and your Dadi or Mami refuses to buy a drum for you, then cajon is the next best thing. There are many websites which can teach you how to play the cajon.

FGA Cheras 16th Anniversary

Our church celebrated its 16th Anniversary on 18th August 2013 and our cell group was on duty to perform for this occasion. It was a great time for me and our family as we enjoyed all the practices held in Ah Ku's house every Friday. There are no words to describe how excited I was before the performance. You can watch this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wlcjCh6yA4w of our performance.

Cooking and Baking Spree

My Ah Mah and Mami have been very active in the kitchen lately. Ah Mah is back to her active self like before. She has gone to a cooking and baking spree at home.

I have been engaged by Ah Mah to actively look for recipes daily from the Internet. I am an expert in searching for Amy Beh's recipes. She is Ah Mah's favourite chef.

There was a day when I watched a show call "I Can Cook" from Cbeebies and was keen to try out a recipe. Ah Mah and Mami prepared all the ingredients for Shaun and I to prepare and bake. We tried, but it did not turn out very nice. Perhaps I should try recipes from Amy Beh too.

Here we are.....all ready....

Work, work, work

Poem Craze

I love writing poems. I wrote a few poems recently. Do allow me to share with you as follows...

Poem to my teacher :

Don't be angry, don't be angry,
We hope you can be always happy,
We know we are sometimes naughty,
However, we are very sorry.

You are very beautiful today,
Not only today, but every other day,
I have something important to say,
I thank God you are my teacher, Hooray!

A Bad Guy Poem:

I am in a shame,
But my name is Bane,
I have a red hat,
Inside there's a rat.

I am Bumble Bee,
But I'm a bad guy you will see,
We live in the robber's house,
And we have a pet mouse.

If you be in our trap,
You will be our pet,
You will be boiled in hot water,
When you bathe you will suffer.

We will make a flood,
You will pay with blood,
We will send rain,
And you will be in pain.

We have alot of weapons,
On them it has patterns.
We will use it to fight,
Always in the bright light.

Bookfest 2013

Dadi and Mami went to the Bookfest 2013 at KL Conventional Centre after church yesterday. As expected, it was crowded. Dadi and Mami managed to buy some books and school stationeries for us.

Buy 2, free 1 Avengers book. Shaun TiTi's favourite.
There were many more titles of which Shaun already bought some
through Scholastic's purchase through his preschool

25% off for all Roald Dahl books. Love this book. Read one book
as soon as Mami showed this to me.

RM10 per book. Levels 1 and 2 are for Shaun.

RM10 per book

Mami managed to buy stationeries at a good discounted price. Also bought a few ICON pencil cases at 50% or 70% discount to give as presents for my friends during certain occasions.

Dadi and Mami may go there again later this week to buy a few more items as Christmas presents for some close friends. Perhaps it would not be crowded during the Raya holidays....who knows.

Exam stress

I will be sitting for my Yamaha Grade 9 examination early next month. I am not sure if I look forward for the day to come. My Yamaha teacher has been drilling us during lessons over the past few months, preparing the group for this examination. I must say that she is very dedicated as she held several extra classes for us. She certainly wants the best from all of us.

I am trying to put more effort in practicing my three pieces which I chose for my exam. Mami spents time standing next to me, checking if I played with the right expressions and body movement. It is not easy to please her as her expectations are high. My hearing is good, but my sight reading is poor. Mami runs through sight reading with me once a week. Sometimes I end up crying for not being able to play correctly.

Mami reminded me today that my exam is only 4 weeks away. She is very anxious and I am too. I must start praying for this upcoming exam.

Family Camp 2013

I had the privileged to join Dadi for our church camp. Ah Mah was unwell and Mami wanted to stay back to be with her. Shaun Shaun TiTi did not want to go because Mami was not going.

I had lots of fun there. I was very independent going around and mixed well with everyone. I was even very friendly with the invited Pastor. Peacehaven was a great place. I told Mami that the air was cold even though there were no fans or air conditioners.

The Three Kings at Home

Mami calls us the three Kings at home.

A message to my beloved Yeh Yeh

I spoke to Yeh Yeh twice over the phone today. The haze has worsen in Ipoh. During the first phone call, I asked Yeh Yeh if he had bought any masks to wear and to my surprised, he did not. I sort of lectured him to buy for Mah Mah. I told him that if Mah Mah is unwell, noone will be cooking for him to eat. I called him again at night to follow up. I was delighted that he took action to buy masks. However, I was surprised that he bought only 5 masks. I told him that we have a box full of masks....the size of a tissue box. I further explained to Yeh Yeh that I predicted that the haze will be worst in the next few days. The haze started from Singapore....to Johor.....to Selangor and KL and will travel up north to Ipoh. Do you agree with my prediction?

Take care Yeh Yeh and Mah Mah.

My second poem on Haze

Haze, haze I don't like haze,
You always make me in a daze,
Don't make my family laze,
People stop your fire's blaze.

Does prayer work?

Two weeks ago, I had 5 days of English assessment. On one of the day, I somehow felt that the assessment would be difficult.

I normally hang out with this good friend of mine called T. I asked T if she wanted to pray with me before our assessment and she agreed. We prayed together before school started.

When we entered the class, it would be the norm for our teacher to pray with us before the start of our assessment. Our teacher prayed and I said a loud Amen.

During the assessment, I was very worried. We had to rearrange 15 sentences of instructions on how to bake a fairy cake. There were so many words unknown to me. I have never seen Mami bake. In fact, Mami has never baked.

After rearranging the first 6 sentences, I had an idea. My idea was to pray. I knew that God would listen. So, I stopped my work and prayed. After prayer, I looked at my friend T who was seated in front. From the look of her face, I knew she had difficulty in completing the assessment too. I immediately signaled to her with a praying hand. She nodded and understood what I meant. She started to pray.

My version of the story....
I realised that after praying, I somehow knew what to write. I believed that I rearranged the remaining sentences correctly. I was not sure if the first 6 sentences before I prayed were arranged correctly. Till now, I am uncertain because the results were not revealed to us. However, I am convinved that my prayer was answered.

My friend T's version of the story....
After the assessment, T came to me and complaint. She said that although she prayed, it was still difficult. She still did not know what was the right arrangement.

My friend T is a very bright student but is a non-believer. I believe that God would have answered her prayers. Only time will tell and will prove that God answers. I hope that our teacher would run through the answers with us soon. I want to prove to her that God is real and God is good.

Mid-Term Parents-Teachers Day

Today was the day that my Dadi and Mami had to go to my school to collect my progress report for the first half year of 2013. I followed them to school because I was all excited to see my science project and science poem being displayed in the school hall.

Dadi and Mami were very proud to hear positive and good remarks on my progress this year. Suprisingly my teachers did not agree with Mami when she mentioned that I was too playful this year.

Some pictures of my science project displayed and the comments given by my teacher in my progress report.

Mami mentioned that there was a spelling error in the title :(

I am happy......all glory to God.

This reminds me of a post that I must share about prayer. Will update my blog later.

My very own, hand written poem

I wrote this poem this morning. I even created a musical tune for my poem. The poem goes....

Haze, haze, I don't like haze,
I won't be going out anyway,
I am bored in my place,
My mum said not to go out today.

Blessed Father's Day

Today is a happy day. It is Father's Day.

Initially I was not looking forward for today. Dadi went to Geneva again last Sunday and he was supposed to be back two weeks later. God was good and He knew my heart's desire. My desire was to be with Dadi on Father's Day. Dadi came back on Friday night and today, Dadi managed to celebrate with us before leaving to Singapore this afternoon.

As expected, I made a Father's Day card for Dadi. Dadi was really tired this morning and he woke up a little later than usual. I suggested to Shaun TiTi to make breakfast for him, delivered to his room. Shaun was so excited, he ran up to the room to take a breakfast order from Dadi. Dadi ordered a cup of coffee and toast bread with jam. With some help from the adults, we managed to deliver breakfast to the room for Dadi.

We went to church this morning. During prayer time, I took the opportunity to pray for my Dadi. Dadi told me what his heart's desire was, and I prayed that God will grant him his heart's desire. After church, we went to Pappa Rich for lunch. Coincidently, the restaurant has the word "Pappa" which means daddy to us.

I love Dadi very much. I love playing with him. He is such a gentle and loving Dadi.....someone who is always approachable and will always have time to listen to my problems.

I thank God for my Dadi. Blessed Father's Day, Dadi.

Mami's Room is The Best

Whenever Dadi goes overseas, my Shaun TiTi will negotiate to sleep with Mami. Mami would not agree unless if he is unwell.

I have been coughing over the past two days. I was unable to sleep. So, Mami suggested for me to sleep in her room. At that time, Shaun TiTi has already slept. She was worried that he would cry when he realises that he is all alone in our room. Mami then decided to carry him into her room to sleep with me on her bed. With TiTi and I sleeping on her bed, Mami ended sleeping on the mattress on the floor.

We love sleeping in Mami's room. It brings much comfort to us. We slept well last night.

Missing Dadi all the time

Dadi was recently away for a week to Geneva and this week, he is away again to Geneva. Although Dadi has been travelling often over the past few years, I would still cry thinking of him most of the time. I would normally cry the first night he is away, missing him so dearly.

My Shaun TiTi is the opposite. Just recently when Dadi was leaving for Geneva, he happily said "Yey, Dadi is going to Geneva". There was a reason behind his cheer. He knows that Dadi would be buying him toys which he had already preselected.

We both love Legos and Legos are cheap in Geneva. He bought several sets of levels for us and I believe he will be buying one more Star Wars set for Shaun when he comes back this round.

Thank you Dadi for your love and generosity. We love you too.

Projects after projects

I have been busy with lots of projects in school. When I am busy, Mami gets busy too.

School has been interesting. Science subject is far the most interesting subject for me.

Over the past month, the emphasis on our science topic was "Minibeast". We had several projects, some individual and some group projects. One of which was to catch a minibeast and prepare a habitat for it. I went hunting for a snail with Dadi one fine morning. However, we did not manage to find a snail. We went for the easiest minibeast to catch..... The Ant.

Sorry as Mami had forgotten to take a picture of my ant habitat. We caught about 20 big black ants. We had to write a science report on our preparation in looking for the minibeast and how we ensured that the minibeast we caught would be safe in our habitat.

We had another group project where each group was given a different habitat and we had to make 2-D or 3-D minibeast that correspondent with the habitat. We had to buy all sorts of materials for it. We had to beautify the habitat with materials too. My group was given a picture of soil, logs and burrow.

School is certainly fun for me. I can't wait for more projects to come.
