Dadi and Mami allowed me to choose a child to sponsor today. There was a Pastor who came to our church. He shared about his ministry in Borneo. He and his wife sold off all they had in Australia many many years ago to love, care, feed and shelter dying children.
As I was seeing many people going to a particular table in church, looking at some photographs, Mami explained that these children requires sponsorship and support. After understanding what it was, I immediately told Mami that I wanted to sponsor a child. I went to Dadi and asked for his permission. Then I selected a child and agreed that I would sponsor that child. How did I choose this child? It was because he was the same age as I was.
I know that I do not have the money to sponsor yet, but I am sure Mami will graciously pay on my behalf. I will play my part to pray for this child in return. I get to keep this photo and details so that I can pray for him. Perhaps one day, we will meet.

I am blessed
I am very blessed. Blessed with good family and friends.
There is a church friend whom I want to mention and remember here in my blog. Her name is Aunty Mei Leng.
I came to know her more when we were involved in the Christmas project last year. I was blessed to be chosen to be in the same group with her. We visited the homes of the rumah panjang families together. We brought gifts and lunch for them. We ate together and I was asked to pray for them before we left. The next day, I followed Aunty Mei Leng to a place called Dong Lai. There were many children there. It was quite a journey there. It was also a wet and cold day. We had lots of fun singing and playing with the children. We made a factory line to serve dinner to them.
Since then, I became more attached to Aunty Mei Leng because she took care of me throughout the trips. She reminded me to drink water and go for my toilet breaks in-between. She drove me back to my home after the trip.
Some time ago, Aunty Mei Leng came to visit me. She requested from my Mami to bring me out for a date. She brought me to Cravings at Tesco Extra and we had a nice time of fellowship over a banana split ice cream. Aunty Mei Leng had mushroom soup with garlic bread. In return, I played a few songs on the Electone and Piano for her to enjoy. Oh...... I was so happy that Mami gave me money to pay for the treat. We felt so honoured that Aunty Mei Leng came to our house to visit us, despite her busy schedules.
On the following day, Aunty Mei Leng gave me a card when we met in church. It was a great surprise. Here is the card for you to read.

I am truly blessed.
On the Eve of Easter
What did you do on the eve of Easter?
Our family had a great time watching "The Rise of the Guardian". I loved the show....... and I loved the Easter Bunny. Mami reminded me that there was no such person as the Easter Bunny. However, I learnt not be believe in fear so that I would not be clouded with dark ugly black clouds or horses.
Blessed Easter.

Pictures with Mah Mah and Yeh Yeh
These picture were taken during Chinese New Year. I treasure these photos very much because it is a beautiful picture of the family. We were fortunate to have Yeh Yeh and Mah Mah to come to KL to celebrate Chinese New Year together. We also celebrated Yeh Yeh's birthday here.
Ah Mah's Birthday
We celebrated Ah Mah's birthday in Concorde Hotel recently. It was a good time of fellowship within the family. Here is a picture of all of us....

Busy year for me
I have been very busy since school started. There have been a few new activities added to my schedule. Despite my hectic schedule, I am still very much happy with it.
My school has changed from the Local KSSR syllabus to Cambridge syllabus. I am happy over the new syllabus because there are alot more interesting projects, group work and activities. We started the beginning of the year learning how to make a comic strip. Now, we are learning how to do a drama. Next week will be our drama presentation and our group will be presenting "The Cinderella Story". I have been appointed as the group leader and will be the narrator for this play.
I am progressing well in music. I will be sitting for the Yamaha Grade 9 Piano examination this August. I am at Grade 8 for my Electone but Mami has decided not to register me for any Electone examination until Grade 7.
Three new activities added to my schedule this year. I am taking drama and speech classes through my school's curriculum, swimming and Kumon. I am coping well with my schedule so far.

A Brand New Year
Blessed New Year to all who are reading my blog. I wish to apologize for the long absence in updating the blog.
There is so much to update. Perhaps just to highlight a few.
The month of December had been a busy month for us.
We went for a 3-days trip to Penang. It was there that I began to learn how to be comfortable with water in a pool. We went for a banana boat ride which I was fearful off. Slided on super high and long slides. I believe Shaun enjoyed them more than I did.
We brought my cousins, Nick, Ashley and Tobin for a roller blading experience. It was fun for me, but they suffered aches and pains being first timers. I also realised that Shaun is really good at roller blading.
I was privileged to be able to avail myself for the church Christmas project to visit the people from Rumah Panjang and Donglai. I prayed for them and we sat down for meals together. I appreciate Aunty Mei Leng, a church member who took care of me. Mami and Dadi could not join us. I am looking forward to go to Donglai again. It is a ministry I look forward to. I have packed some toys and old clothes to bless them the next time I visit them.
My Aunty Jennifer and her family migrated to Australia. We spent a fruitful time at the airport with them. Mah Mah and Yeh Yeh came from Ipoh to join us. I had a little tears in my eyes when they turned their backs and entered the departure hall.
We spent the Christmas in Ipoh with my grandparents. Coincidently my school friend came to Ipoh. We met up in a game of Laser Tech. I really enjoyed the various services in church. It was the first time I attended church 4 days in a row. I was happy that I could play 6 Christmas Carols on the piano for the Chinese service while my Yeh Yeh song led. There was a candlelight service on Christmas eve. My school friend was at the service too.
We ended the year with a great and fun time together with our cell group members at Ah Ku's house. We played a game of Risks, witnessed the fireworks and watched a movie called The 3 Idiots. It was a very funny movie. We only went back at 2 a.m. on New Year's day.
I thank God for His grace, mercy and favour upon me and my family. God has been really good to me.
It is now Year 2013. School has started. I have already witnessed God's goodness by placing me into my preferred class. I had just started my first swimming lesson yesterday. I was surprised over my own courage to learn swimming and I did enjoy the lesson.
I pray that this new year will be another great year. I hope to grow to know Him, love Him and serve Him.

Year 2 Mathematics
Mami had started introducing Year 2 syllabus with me at home. I have covered 3 chapters of Science and 2 chapters of Mathematics. I am a little worried. I realised that Year 2 Mathematics has 13 chapters, introducing many new topics which I am totally unfamiliar with. For a start, I am trying to memorise my multiplication. Otherwise, I can't go to the next chapter of division.
I hope I'll be able to learn as much as possible before school reopen.

Children House Of Prayer (CHOP)
Mami and I attended a 2 days Children Prayer Conference organised by NECF and CHOP. It was held at Full Gospel Assembly, KL. The praise and worship was awesome. Prayer time was powerful, but I was too shy to really pray. My little brother came for the last session at night because the entry was free.
Here are some photos to share.

What did I learn?
We learnt how to pray for our families, unsaved friends, church leaders, and most of all, our beloved country, MALAYSIA! We were encouraged to also adopt another country and pray for the country.
I was also addicted to a particular malay song "Yesuslah Tuhan yang layak ditinggikan". The next morning, I kept playing this song by ear over the piano. Love this song.

Shell Lego Car
Most of us would have known that you can buy a Lego Car for RM10.90 from Shell Petrol Station if you refill V-Power petrol for more than RM40.00. I believe you need a BonusLink card too.
Mami refilled hers today and bought one Shell Lego Car. I was quite disappointed that I did not have one because the youngest child generally gets the toy first. So, Mami bought Dadi's car to refill petrol as well. Fortunately she managed to buy another car for me.
Thank you Mami.

5-Minute Marvel Stories
I skipped the last day of school, while Shaun attending his preschool end-of-year party. Mami and I went shopping and bought this book for my younger brother, Shaun. It is called "5-Minute Marvel Stories". We chose this because Shaun Shaun is a Superhero Squad fan. We bought this at Kinokuniya, KLCC.
We normally read before going to bed. Over the past few nights, Mami has been encouraging Shaun Shaun to read the stories together. However, he gave an excuse that it was too difficult for him. Mami was disappointed because she knew that Shaun would be able to read this book.
Instead, I told Mami that I would love to read the book. I have been reading this book over the past few nights. I love the stories.
What did Shaun Shaun read eventually? A very easy-to-read book.

Annual Speech Day 2012
I was privileged to have my Yeh Yeh and Mah Mah to come all the way from Ipoh, to witness my school's Annual Speech Day. I was proud to receive awards for all my four core subjects, namely BM, English, Maths and Science. Here are some photos to share with you.
My awards for Year 1. The additional ones were given the previous week during Special Awards Day in school |

Loads of fun
I had lots of fun the last weekend. On Friday, I went Roller Blading and Jungle Gym at BSC. Mami bought the combo tickets which cost RM45/person, unlimited excess. I did more Roller Blading with my classmate's brother, while Shaun TiTi joined my other classmates to Jungle Gym.
I was also invited to KL Tower last weekend for high tea. With the occasion of my classmate's birthday, she invited a few friends to experience the revolving restaurant. She chose that location because our teacher had told us about the revolving restaurant and how it would turn as you eat.
My classmate's birthday was the next day, 29th. We had a celebration with her in school. Her mummy was really generous in blessing us with lots of food and party packs. Everything was nicely decorated with a Hello Kitty theme. Mami came to my school to help in the preparation too. I was so happy to see her.
After the birthday celebration, we had our Special Awards Day. I was so happy that I had received 4 trophies. I received an award for (1) High Achievement for Spelling (2) High Achievement for Ejaan (3) High Achievement for Mandarin and finally (4) Noble Award for the class.
God is good and gracious. Mami will post the photos after I receive my other trophies on Speech Day next week.

Hooray for my front tooth
I was very anxious over the past few days when one of my front tooth was shaky. Dadi advised not to see a dentist and allow it to drop naturally. Mami and I prayed that God will help my tooth to drop naturally over the past few nights.
It was as if a miracle happened yesterday.
I had an enjoyable time at Bangsar Shopping Centre with my school friends. We went roller blading and played in the Jungle Gym. Mami bought the combo tickets for both Shaun Shaun and I. We were there from 10 a.m. till 4:30 p.m.
At noon, we went for lunch at Chillis. I was sitted next to my classmate's brother. His name is Brendan. He was advising me to bite a chicken drumstick and pull it off. I did just that and hooray! My tooth flew out of my mouth, onto the floor. I was initially frighten after seeing some blood, but I was very relieved that it got out of my way.
I am really amazed. Amazed at how easy my tooth came off. I am so grateful to Brendan. It was like a miracle to me.

Being Independent
Mami says that every child should learn how to be independent. I am still learning, but I am progressing well.
My little brother attends music lessons at Yamaha Music Centre every Tuesday nights. Mami would accompany him throughout his lessons. During those times, I would normally need to do "something" and go to bed early on my own. What do I normally do?
In most weeks, Mami would have marked some pages in my revision books to complete. I would have to turn to the pages marked as "H/W" and will complete them. Mami would check and mark the revision books on the next day. Once I have completed them, it would normally be time for me to prepare for bedtime. I would ensure that the lights are switched off by 8p.m.
In some weeks, I would take my music book to practice. Sometimes there is theory homework to complete. Once I have completed them, it's bedtime as usual. Normally Mami would not check my theory work. I am not sure why. It is either she is really poor in her theory previously, or she trust that I would know how to do them.
I am able to do many things on my own. However, I still would need to be reminded to do them. I am generally quite playful at home. A little playtime is a must for me. Otherwise I would complain that I have not had the time to play and this would lead to an extension of additional 15 minutes of my bedtime.

God's favour
Every night without fail, Mami would always pray for God's wisdom, understanding and favour for Shaun and I. I thank God that I can testify to His goodness.
I am grateful and thankful that He has certainly helped me in my exams. Today, I had received all my results, and I immediately told Mami, "Mami, I think God really helped me in my exams". Mami replied that God certainly did.
We only have 4 core subjects in our exams in Primary One, i.e. BM, English, Maths and Science. Our science paper is based on 60% KSSR syllabus and 40% Christian Science in English language. Moral and Mandarin subjects are taken as non-core subjects. Separate banding assessment is given for non-core subjects.
For my recent final exams, I obtained 100% for BM, English and Maths. I achieved 98% for Science. I was the only student in my class who received 100% for the 3 subjects respectively.
I was actually quite surprised. I did not find the papers easy. I told Mami I could complete the papers, but I wasn't confident, especially for my BM paper under the comprehension section. Praise be to God. He certainly has given me the wisdom to answer my questions. As for my Maths paper, I did alot of thinking to do some questions till I had not enough time to check my answers. I only managed to check half of the paper.
God is good. I thank God for His grace and favour.
Mami had earlier promised me a reward. An expensive one because I hit my target. Check out Shaun Shaun's blog to see what she has promised me.

I love school
Two days ago, I came back from school and thanked Mami for sending me to my current school. Mami asked why and I told her that I love my school very much.
I love going to school everyday. There is always something which I would look forward to. I told Mami why.....
Monday = I love going for assemblies. There would always be something interesting that the headmistress would announce.
Tuesday = I love PE time. We get to play games, netball and other new and interesting activities. There is also the Chapel service. I love to sing. So, I enjoy the praise and worship time the most.
Wednesday = There is Science taught by my favourite teacher. Sometimes, we get to go and learn some dance moves during lunch time. This is an additional activity where attendance is not compulsory. But I love joining the group to dance (although I am one of the minority of boys :( ). Previously, there would be weekly prayer time conducted by a teacher. We sit together to pray.
Thursday = There is art and computer classes. I love art and craft, don't you?
Friday = PE time again.
More importantly, I love my friends in school. Everyone is nice and friendly. Even the older students too. I have friends in other standards...all the way to Standard Six. The school is small, and it makes it easier for us to mix.
I thank God that Dadi and Mami chose this school for me. Mami told me that my Yeh Yeh and Mah Mah helped to convince Dadi to enrol me in this school.
God is good. He has always been good and faithful in my life.
